Raynaud's phenomenon: Raynaud's phenomenon is an exaggerated blood vessel response to cold temperature or emotional stress. The fingertips usually turn white, then blue, then red. Some reduction in the intensity of attacks and the prevention of tissue injury are attainable in most patients. Treatment includes general measures, such as avoiding cold exposure. If this doesn't work, calcium channel blockers can be tried.
