Highly variable: This depends upon what you are recovering from, the state of your underlying health and the cause of the 'walking' pneumonia. The term can be interpreted in many ways, and how quickly you recover will depend upon the etiology. If it is mycoplasma (an atypical pneumonia) that can take up to 6 weeks. If it was a chemical pneumonia from aspiration due to reflux, correct the reflux, etc.

Depends on details: Your question suggests laryngopharyngeal reflux (lpr) aka extra-esophageal reflux disease (eerd). Generally, high dose ppis are ineffective; medications/ppis do not stop reflux. First, you must recover from pneumonia. Then, you should consult with a minimally invasive surgeon to discuss more definitive treatment options http://goo.Gl/0rrqv.
