Normal reaction: Of course, your gall bladder is going to be inflamed if it is irritated from sludge and you are scheduled to have it taken out. This is no different than draining an abscess - it is infected and inflamed, and needs to be incised and drained, followed by antibiotics. Have confidence in your surgeon, go through the chole surgery, and you should do just fine with proper followup.
