Inflamed tear glands: The sensitive glands within the upper eyelid can develop a chronic inflammation. If it has lasted several weeks & you have applied heat without improvement, a visit to an ophthalmologist is needed. Occasionally they must open & remove the material from the inside of the eyelid.
