Not the heart : Sounds like your chest pain is non cardiac and a workup for other causes should be sought.

EKG: A ekg is the first test when someone has chest pain. It isnt very sensitive or specific. If you were having a fulminant heart attack yes it likely would have picked it up. If you are continuing to experience chest pain you should seek further help from your doctor.
