Autism : To simplify autism comprise of variables like language repetitive behaviors and non verbal communication.With good therapy kids can be trained to improve their social communication can be very productive enjoy friendships other activities .I always encourage patents to be clear "autism does not mean mental retardation " do need to address any anxiety or mood disturbance if present he'll be fine.

Theory of Mind (ToM): Many children & teens with iq's >70 & mild autism desire friendships, but ⬇ed tom (ability to understand that others may have a different point of view) gets in the way. Put candy in an obvious, empty band-aid box &, with dad elsewhere, ask your son, "what will dad think is in this box?" if he says, "candy, " (because that's what he knows is in the box), social skills group therapy can help him.
