10,000 not too much: Yes, it is possible to take too much vit. D, but 10, 000 iu/day is a safe dose. Toxicity has never been documented with doses under 40, 000 units/day. It often takes doses of 10, 000 iu/day to achieve optimal blood levels. Taking vit. D during pregnancy reduces chances of preterm labor, preeclampsia & diabetes.
