Risk vs. benefits: Citalopram is fda pregnancy category c drug. Prospective comparative study show citalopram use during embryogenesis is not associated w/apparent major teratogenic risk in humans. Stay on it: There is no conclusive evidence that ssri's cause birth defects. Google mass general women's psychiatry and read about the actual data on ssri's in pregnancy, not a big deal compared to developing a recurrent blah!
