It depends: It depends on the severity of your depression when off of citalopram. Some people with mild depression can stop antidepressants during pregnancy or at least the 1st trimester and do fine. Severe depression can put the baby's health at risk. In that case, it then would be worth staying on the medication with close monitoring by your obgyn. Talk to your obgyn if you are planning on getting pregnant.
