Ideopathyic: Idiopathic epilepsy may be hereditary. Irregularities detected in the eeg of the patient tend to be similar to those of other family members whether or not the family member has epilepsy. In some instances chromosomal abnormalities are the cause of epilepsy and can be inherited. See http://www.Ehow.Com/about_4578411_is-epilepsy-heredi.

Unlikely: Highly unusual for you to develop epilepsy at this point, as most of the hereditary events will occur at an earlier age. However, you could be a higher risk for post-traumatic seizures if you experience a significant head injury. If you indeed are pre-occupied with your future, an eeg might reassure you, but unless you truly have an episode, would not recommend.
