Some possibilities: Fever plus sore throat usually mean a viral infection (a cold or the flu) or a strep throat infection (bacteria that need an antibiotic to treat). Hurting in the chest can be more serious, because there could be a chest infection like bronchitis or pneumonia. Of course, chest pain unrelated to the fever must be checked by a doctor to be sure it is not heart pain (which would be bad). See a doctor.
