Soon: Chronic symptoms that don't resolve in 1-2 weeks always suggest something that needs to be dealt with. If it wasn't bothering you too much, waiting to see if viral symptoms went away made sense, but after this amount of time, you have to suspect something like strep throat might be at work. See your doc.
