When experiencing : Painful anxiety, it is important to consult with a psychopharmacologist (psychiatrist) or a psychotherapist to assess how to alleviate your pain as quickly as possible to start with. Then, engaging in psychotherapy to help you achieve long term results is essential.

Yes: There are a number of anti anxiety meds. Best to check with a psychiatrist. It might also help to get therapy to discover the root causes and learn to ameliorate them. Often painful anxiety (is there another kind) is a consequence of the story we tell ourselves. Therapy may help change the story.
