A member asked:

Is it true that anti-depressants only work in the beginning?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Many studies have shown that antidepressants, when they work well, keep away depression over a long period of time. If you are finding that your antidepressant isn't working as well as it used to, please speak with your psychiatrist and/or therapist. There are many possible reasons for this and many ways to help you feel better. Hope this answer helps.
