Antidepressants: Augmenting one antidepressant with another antidepressant is done if limited response at optimal dose. Some examples would be wellbutrin with paxil, Abilify (aripiprazole) with paxil, or seroquel with paxil. Discuss with your doctor.

Some doctors do: Some doctors do mix two - some even more. I shouldn't second guess them, but i'd be curious to understand specifically what they are looking for by doing that. In any case, it would not be up to you to decide to do it or what to pick. You could disagree and either convince them or change doctors. Making those decisions is what the doctors are responsible for. You help with honesty and cooperation.
