See below: Tough question and no one knows. I presume you are talking about tobacco. It was recently shown that there is long term and perhaps permanent damage from smoking pot through adolescence and young adulthood. I suspect the same is true for cigarettes but it has never been demonstrated. Damage is probably less for use occurring at later ages since developing brains are more susceptible..
