Reflux of: Intestinal products into the upper airway/pharynx may be quite common after heavy meal or on occasion, but regular reflux of brackish material and "aspiration" into lungs is serious. You need to start with your interenist, and this may lead to a work up, medication, or even surgery to fix.

Unknown: Aspiration short or longterm has significant risks. You must determine the cause of symptoms and go from there. What you describe could be extra-esophageal reflux disease (eerd) or numerous other things achalasia, gerd/eerd, etc... http://goo.gl/0rrqv.
