Maybe: Everyone reponds a little differently to narcotic pain meds. The good news is that if you do there are lots of alternative meds to treat pain that your surgeon can switch you to.

Quite possibly: Don't be surprised if you feel "loopy" and possibly nauseated from narcotic (opiate) pain medications. For many patients, that doesn't present a problem if they plan to stay in bed for 1-2 days after surgery. Some patients find that they simply have to reduce the dose. But if the pain medication is causing side effects that prevent you from obtaining pain relief, please call your doc to change it.

Probably: The narcotic pain medications that you receive after he anesthetic can make you a little "loopy" after the operation. This is why you are not allowed to drive or be alone after the operation.
