Either: Can conceivably be done with either regional or general anesthesia. Check with your surgeon.

Depends on surgeon: Usually these procedures are done under some sort of sedation. This may be a full general anesthesia or deep sedation. The surgeon will also use local anesthesia to the area after you are asleep. If you have any questions you can discuss it with your anesthesiologist on the day of surgery.
