Maybe not....: Valerian and passion flower are herbal supplements that have not been studied in conjunction with xanax (alprazolam). It's never a good idea to mix medicines and supplements unless you're under the care of a physician. You may do no harm, or you may see an additive effect of the different substances, which could be risky. See your primary care physician for advice and management.

Probably add: The active ingredient in valerian works through a specialized "gaba receptor" in brain cells. So does xanax (alprazolam). So the odds are they add together. Roughly, it's as though you are taking a higher dose of xanax (alprazolam). (other meds that "quiet down" neve cells also use gaba--such as valproate, related! someone with a solid background in psychopharmacology may help you simplify a bit.
