All these supplements are supposed to induce relaxation and induce sleep, actions similar to those of xanax. Since supplements are not investigated by the FDA we physicians are reluctant to endorse them as we don't know if contaminants are present, don't know the ideal dose, don't know side effects, don't know how effective they really are. It is best to discuss this with your Psychiatrist who knows your medical history. If you are not confident in your Doctor please see another for a second opinion. Please see a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy to evaluate your problems and help you. You may need a physical exam and sleep study for further diagnosis.
