Risk Can Be Elevated: Triglycerides (tg) are blood fats that are elevated for many reasons. Often, high tg occurs with high blood pressure, high blood sugar, low "good" cholesterol (hdl-c), and increased waist size. Most people with high tg also have high LDL particle number with mildly abnormal LDL cholesterol. In these settings risk of heart disease is high. Also, tg > 500 can cause pancreatitis. See your doctor.

High triglycerides: Normal triglycerides is less than 150 mg/dl. There are many studies showing high triglycerides between 200-499 mg/dl to be harmful to your heart and arteries. Elevated triglycerides are included in metabolic syndrome which is dangerous.
