Two weeks after a bimalleolar reduction surgery, cast was replaced with a boot. how important is it to wear the boot? no weight on the ankle.

Wear the boot: It's very important that you wear the boot. After 2 weeks, your bone is not healed yet. The boot provides stability to your ankle. And it is good practice to follow doctor's order.

Bimalleolar: Your surgeon must have explained that bones heal in approximately 6 to 8 weeks, during this time you must have some form of immobilization with either a cast or a boot, no weight bearing is mandatory during this period; please follow your surgeon's post operative instructions.
