Varies : It varies quite a bit based upon the nature of the fracture as well as type of surgery that was done. The “average” ankle requiring an open reduction and interval fixation takes about 6-8 weeks to heal, at which time protected weight bearing is often begun. Of course, you should discuss the specifics of your case with your surgeon.
