A 24-year-old male asked:

Can infected lymph nodes in the neck cause cysts and nodules in the same area of the neck worried about lymphoma?

Dr. Michael Dugan

Absolutely: Neck lymph nodes are common with infection and also very commonly enlarged in lymphoma.
Dr. Chad Levitt
Radiation Oncology 22 years experience
Yes: Any inflammatory response in an area of the body can cause swelling of lymph nodes which can be palpable as nodularities. If they persist for weeks or continue to enlarge over a similar time period, u will need to have these checked out by your md. Most of the time a cut shaving or a sore or abrasion in your scalp or dave or in your mouth can lead to swollen nodes/glands.
