Try cold packs then.: Some pains can feel worse with heat. Try cold and it make work better. No clear science behind these facts.

It's hard to say: Becausesay because "hurt" is not very specific. What kind of pain is it? Where is it? Was there tissue damage? Is it in the skin? Heat sometimes helps injury by increasing blood flow. Cold sometimes helps by decreasing inflammation, especially just after an injury. Sorry can't be more helpful.
