Maybe: It all depends. Current recommendations say to start with macrobid. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) and Bactrim are also excellent first choices. There are many antibiotics on the market that may work. Sometimes, when we get a urine culture, the report shows some infections are resistant to some antibiotics and sensitive to others. It is possible that doxy could work for a urinary tract infection.
