A member asked:

I have muscle and bone pain also sore throat groin pain dry skin i have test negative for hiv in 3 month can i have hiv?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Conceivably: There are unusual cases of HIV disease in which the patient does not become measurably antibody positive for up to 6 months. The probability is that you do not have this, but does not hurt to be tested. The alternative is to measure your serum for the presence of HIV RNA by pcr, but this can be expensive. Use protected sex.
