Unable to say: While occasional skipped beats can be normal, you should get checked. You are 40, a male, & engaging in intense exercise. I don't know what risk factors you have for heart disease. Family history? Smoker? Elevated cholesterol? Diabetes ? High blood pressure? Please see your pcp. They will review risk factors, probably check an ekg, & decide if you need exercise testing or other evaluation.

Maybe: Palpitations can occur and resolve. Speaking with your physician is important to confirm nothing else is going on but other causes are too much caffeine, low magnesium, medications, recreational drugs, thyroid problems that need to be discussed with a physician.
