Muscular likely: You describe a very common and annoying type of low back problem, one that affects millions of people in this country. Female patients, the younger patient should be seen and examined for rheumatologist conditions but on average this is muscular type straining, considering lack o urinary, bowel and midline spine pain. Gentle stretching, cool compresses and tylenol (acetaminophen) and or advil should help resolve.

Back pain ouch.: Back pain is the most common cc seen in primary care. Frustration abounds. Once the "correctable" things are rulled out, may i suggest adding this thought to your doc's treatments. Our pets can be great mentors of being "muscle smart" . Study how you pet stretches and initiates movement as they go thru their day. They can teach us something. (from a fellow back pain sufferer).
