Are u sure it's a: Bacterial infection, not a fever blister. The lips have good blood flow and are not often infected by bacteria. That being said if you injured your lip on your teeth or there is a confirmed infection you may need anaerobic coverage, like metronizadole, for mouth bacteria. You sure it's not a fever blister?

Follow Rx recs: If the pain is gone, it seems like the infection is improving. I would finish the current course of antibiotics that were prescribed, without changing the dose yet. Infections and lesions in the mouth can look much worse for longer because of the moisture. But if pain returns, or another week has no change get rechecked.
