Depends on location: If the symptom is high up in the throat then the tonsils can sometimes give this sensation. Lower down in the throat it could be from reflux or some other irritant. If the symptoms doesn't go away continue to follow up with your otolaryngologist - sometimes ct scans are done or swallowing studies.
