I had an emg and results show 'unremarkable'. what does that mean?

No Diagnosis: Emg is a test to establish a diagnosis, and to clarify what nerve problems exist to explain weakness or pain. When the results are unremarkable, it means that it did not identify the cause. It does not mean your symptoms are not real. A non-neurologic explanation may be required.

Nothing: Electromyogram and nerve conduction studies identify where nerves have been damaged and/or are undergoing repair.  unfortunately, these studies cannot detect sites of chronic pinching (impingement), which is painful but does not alter neural tissue nor cause positive study data.  these tests cannot rule out chronic impingement, which is common. See my board on quora.Com about this medical issue.
