MostAnyMD/DO-Anytime: Issue not md but social conventions, state laws, age of maturity, parental consent, payment, quality, etc. Vaginal exams commonly done by public, usually in private. Mds are supposed to follow etiquette, moral & legal rules, have exam tools & work to protect clients who come to them. Mds also have training & experience in anatomy & understand pap smears. Best seek obgyn well reviewed by clients.

Usually: I agree with the previous answer. It depends on state rules and regulation. It may not be covered by insurance. However, i will generally do the test if i feel it will give me information that may change the therapy she needs.
