Overly cautious: As long as you are under treatment and are feeling better your physician maybe overly cautious.

Your co-workers!: Strep is contagious, so you risk infecting others who may come in contact with you while infectious (coughing, sneezing, hand-hand contact), but you stop being contagious a day or two after being on antibiotics. Don't risk getting others sick if you are not yet better or there will be more deadlines missed than yours.
