Depends: If it is truly strep it will gradually improve over time. Comfort care with salt water gargles can help. You will be spreading it to others & your risk of heart, kidney and brain complication of rheumatic fever are estimated at 1/200. Either find the money, find a low cost clinic or face the consequences.
