NSAIDS: Non steroidal anti- inflamatory drugs are the first line treatment for arthritis. These include medicines such as motrin, ibuprofen, naprosyn, alleve, advil, mobic, celebrex, etc. The adversed side effects of these can include GI upset, GI bleeding, or kidney problems. These should be taken with food. An alternative is tylenol (acetaminophen) (acetominophen.) side effects of tylenol (acetaminophen) are liver problems.
