Try Paradoxical Soln: If u feel panic attack coming on or if u're in situation that might bring one on, try this: let it come! actually let it happen! so if u feel one coming on tell urself "i can handle it -even though it won't feel good!" and before one comes or while it's happening 1) do slow "belly breathing"; & 2) alternate between squeezing & relaxing different muscle groups. U'll learn u have control over them.

It depends: The "how" depends on the severity of the anxiety attacks. Many can calm down with deep breathing, inner visualization of a safe, beautiful place. You can practice these skills before the attack. Keeping fit and well rested are helpful too. Consistent meditation. Psychotherapy directed to your specific anxieties. Psychiatric medicines like effexor, (venlafaxine) lexapro, celexa, and zoloft. Some others too.
