A member asked:

Are there other pain management options than drugs that would work just as well?

Reversible diagnosis: You may wish to try a splint (get the right one) and physical therapy (treat the right thing). This is a reversible diagnostic means to determine if the bite, joints, muscles and head/neck are being compromised. If you get relief, then treat to the best functional position. If you don't get relief, there are other causes or seek another opinion(s).

Depends: Pain mgmt doesn't consist just of drugs. Drugs may be given to alleviate pain or treat the underlying problem. Depending on the particular problem anything from physical therapy and exercise to invasive procedures may be recommended.
