Vaseline: Wounds heal twice as quickly if they are kept moist rather than allowed to dry out. Simply covering it with vaseline with or without a bandage will help it to heal more quickly. However, if there is a thick scab, your best bet is to gently remove the scab, and then keep the wound covered with vaseline so that a scab doesn't form again.
