Yes: There are some studies suggesting that acupuncture can help knee pain. Like all treatments, not everyone benefits from it, but may be worthwhile to try it. I tell patients to give it about 10 sessions before you decide if it is working.

Often: Acupuncture can be beneficial for knee pain from quite a few causes. It helps to reduce inflammation of bursitis, muscle sprains & strains, arthritis, fractures etc. However, it can not correct a surgical problem.

Sometimes: There is some evidence that acupuncture can help knee pain in some circumstances. However, it can be quite expensive and time consuming if needed on a long term basis. You should have a good examination by a qualified Doctor to determine the cause of knee pain, if possible. Then a treatment plan can be implemented which may include acupuncture.
