Which fingers: What was the surgery first of all and did it involve the hand with numbness? If all the fingers are numb its hard to know. If just the pinky and ring finger are numb you may have in involvement of the ulnar nerve. The good news is that this virtually always resolves itself. You should discuss this however with your surgeon.

See below: This can depend on the type of surgery. But if you had non spinal surgery this is probably a nerve compression type injury from positioning. This should resolve within a day or so. If it does not you should discuss with your surgeon and anesthesiologist.
