Not in rearview?: If ophtho does not have an answer with recurrent symptoms, then you should either consult a neurologist or perhaps a neuroophthalmologist. No one dr knows all, and if your eye dr doesn't have an answer, ask another.

Unclear etiology: With that complicated past medical history, i would recommend a comprehensive ophthalmologic examination. I would also recommend visual field testing. With the history of auto-immune disease and aneurysms, there could also be vasculitis that could be affecting the optic nerve, retinal or choroidal perfusion. An mra of the neck & retinal consultation with angiogram may also be helpful.
