Sometimes: The two upper front teeth should be in harmony with the other teeth. They should be a little longer than the ones next to them and the same length as the canines. Also when they are longer they should not interfere with your bite or chewing movements.

Yes: The teeth function as a complex unit and they must work in harmony. We often can lengthen teeth, but only carefully and in such a way that they remain balanced and work properly together. They must not be in hyperocclusion (high) and must not be in the way or hitting too hard. See the prosthodontist to evaluate your situation and offer some options.

Depends.: If the current alignment of your teeth provides enough room for dental aesthetic material to be placed without causing a change to your bite and so long as it can be performed without weakening the remaining tooth structure, the probably yes, but, you should have your dentist evaluate.

Depends on bite: While lengthening your front teeth may look more youthful , it needs to "fit" with your lower teeth. An uneven bite can cause serious dental problems. Have your dentist evaluate or see an orthodontist.

Subjective: Any time cosmetic dentistry is performed to alter shape, size of teeth, the materials used will have to be maintained a lifetime as they can wear, fracture, or stain over time.

Your bite : If the two front teeth appear short, the way to lengthen them is with porcelain veneers, bonding or crowns. However, your bite needs to be evaluated by your dentist to make sure the increased length of the front teeth is not going to interfere with function and they are not going to be repeatedly fractured.

Consult: If you feel your two front teeth are too short, you should consult with a dentist to evaluate your boite thoroughly and determine whether or not you are a good candidate to lengthen those.

Why not: There are a number of ways you can lengthen teeth to get a desirable cosmetic result. Options will vary dependent on how you present. Do you grind your teeth? How do the teeth come together? Options can run from making them longer using porcelain or by doing a 'gum lift' a surgical procedure involving altering the bone and tissue level at the neck of the tooth. Consult with a cosmetic dentist.

Evaluate occlusion: Sometimes teeth appear too short or too long if they are out of position. Have your dentist evaluate your occlusion. Sometimes you need an occlusion makeover, orthodontic treatment, to put teeth where they belong. Sometimes teeth need to be reshaped. Sometimes both are required. Sometimes teeth wear unevenly because occlusion is not balanced. Don't focus on just 2 teeth, evaluate carefully.
