Plantar fasciitis: Heel pain can occur when the plantar fascia, a band of ligaments that attach from the heel to the forefoot, becomes inflamed due to a strain. Plantar fasciitis is usually treated conservatively (rest, ice, am stretching, anti-inflammatory meds, etc.) but confirm with you physician that this is the diagnosis.

Plantar fasciitis: Most common is plantar fasciitis and treatment would be calf and Achilles tendon stretching and therapy to loosen up the fibers of the plantar fascia. If it is painful to put any weight on heel you should see md to make sure there is not a stress fracture of the heel.

Depends on the cause: Heel pain is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, a condition that is sometimes also called heel spur syndrome when a spur is present. Heel pain may also be due to other causes, such as infection, tendonitis, arthritis, stress fracture, nerve irritation, retained foreign body, bone tumor, or a cyst. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
