Ears are usually...: A person's ears are on opposite sides of his skull and are independent (not connected). That said, they share the risk of getting germs from the nose and throat area, and the 2 ears are build similarly though structured as mirror images of each other. One or both ears can get infected at the same time. One or both ear canals can fill up with wax at the same time. One's doctor can examine each ear.
