Avoid medication! : Good morning, allyn sore throat is caused by inflammation due to viral or bacterial infections or allergens. Only if it is due to a bacterial infection, it needs to be treated with an antibiotic. Most medications are to be avoided at five weeks of pregnancy. Temporary measures such as warm salt-water gargling can be helpful. If the symptoms continue, please call your doctor for further diagnosis.
