I had five or six drinks last night, ending around 2am. it's now 11am and i woke up congested with a sore throat. would it be okay to take dayquil?

Should be fine: The major concern with medications like DayQuil or Nightquil would be drowsiness. I certainly would not drink further while on Dayquil or any other over the counter cold medications since reactions may differ with alcohol. However, I see no other major issues at this point. Stay well hydrated.
