Feel okay now but: Very likely your heart is now affected due to thick heart, probably due to hypertension or other type of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, so strenuous exercise esp. Isometrics, weight lifting, and like can make this condition much worse and can even lead to sudden death. Competition exercise or marathon running is an absolute contraindication for these patients. Marathon athletes can develop cm.
