A member asked:

Echo says i have ; mild concentric left ventricular hypertrophy. what is this and can i reverse it ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

What this shows is the left ventricle (which pumps blood out to the rest of your body) increasing its muscle wall mass in an effort to overcome higher resistance to blood flow. The most common reason is hypertension. More force is needed to pump the blood against higher pressure, so therefore more muscle is needed. Fortunately it is reversible. If you have hypertension, do get your BP controlled.
